IH Cantabria is the perfect ally when designing, expanding, renovating or improving a recreational, fishing or commercial port facility. The combined study of the engineering , naval, operational, environmental and sedimentary aspects looked at from the perspective of R&D provides a guarantee for the success of the initiative.

Numerous public and private clients have benefitted from IH Cantabria's extensive experience in this field. This experience, complete with a detailed knowledge of the hydrodynamic processes, the use of numerical models propagation and the interaction of waves with structures, the use of BAT statistics and mathematics, and the use of best experimental techniques and infrastructure of IH Cantabria IHLab make one it of the global references in port problems.

IH Cantabria has actively participated in the development of the Spanish Maritime Works Recommendations ROM 5.1 that define functional and structural parameters that govern the design and proper operation of the ports
